Speed, stability and confidence
Refined over 10 years, the HSS was originally built for the Feather Cycles Racing team riders in 2013 and was taken to victory many times over at every level of British amateur road racing, from 4th Cat to Elite and even two National Road Race Championships at 40-45 age group.
Going fast is in this bike genes, stiffness where it’s required, but with that classic steel feel we either know and love, or have heard all about. If racing is your thing, this bike will help you do it, but equally it’ll carry you over a 200 mile ride without leaving you feeling buzzed or shaken to fatigue, or at least as little fatigue as is possible over such a big day in the saddle.
One of the first 5 of the original HSS frames has held a top 1% placing on the Official Alpe d’Huez segment on Strava since 2014, so big days in the mountains are a must on this bike. A common phrase heard on more than a few occasions is “this things descends like its on rails”, and the latest disc brake version just adds to this.
The first iteration of this bike allowed a max of 25mm tyres, but the latest version will allow you run up to 30mm tires to add even more compliance to the comfiest of race bikes. Cobbled classics anyone?
As an added bonus, this bike can be built with full integration of hoses for cleaner looks and a saving of weight using the Columbus Trittico cockpit system allowing the use of a traditional 1-1/8” top headset cup whist simultaneously hiding everything you don’t want to see. *
